1901 Canada Census - year fits with Marriage Certificate, but he revises his age downwards by 5 to 10 years after immigration to Canada, until his headstone confirms 1841. - SJL

The Register adds religion: Thomas - Presbyterian, Lena - Methodist; married by A Clark; residence when married: Amabel, Bruce Co.

[Looks like Thomas may have fudged his age down to 30 - possibly because he was marrying a 16 year old; actual age 39/40. - SJL]

Born: Thomas is born in Scotland and immigrated in 1852. [NB Thomas consistently reports his age as four years younger from arrival in Canada/marriage to Lena]. Everyone else is born in rural Manitoba.
